30 May Meet the expert: Our man in SW6
With the launch of our brand new Fulham showroom only 2 days away, we caught up with Fulham sales manager Al Bruce to get the inside scoop on our newest addition.
There is nothing Al doesn’t know about Shaker kitchens. Starting life with The Shaker Kitchen Co as a kitchen fitter, he knows our kitchens quite literally, inside out. In his current role, Al manages the Clapham showroom and will be a familiar face already to our SW4 customers.
Why was Fulham chosen as the next Shaker home?
We’d had our eye on Fulham for a while as, like Clapham, it’s very much a family area. Wandsworth Bridge Road is like a community in itself; there are so many interesting independent shops and restaurants that give it a real buzz. We wanted to be in the heart of things, so when we saw 127 Wandsworth Bridge Road we knew it was the one for us. So far it seems to be a good decision as we’ve had lots of interest from passers by as we’ve been moving in, many of whom are mid renovation of their own homes and kitchens. It seems the ‘don’t move, improve’ mantra is strong here!
What’s instore for visitors to the new showroom?
Well firstly, it’s a lot more than meets the eye! On the ground floor level you’ll see our design bar – a place people can come and chat to our designers, share some ideas and talk about mood boards. Then as you go down the stairs there’s a surprisingly large basement display area with 8 different kitchens to peruse. We’ve chosen some of the most popular colours to display so that customers can see and feel the type of options we offer.
Other things to note too will be the engineered oak wooden floor, fitted by our flooring partner Chaunceys as we found that in Clapham many of our customers were looking at flooring options to complement their new kitchen. And lastly, we will be displaying a variety of Smeg products – from fridge freezers to ovens and toasters as these will be available to all customers to order through us too.
Is there anything you think will create a stir?
It’s been said before, but green is definitely the new grey! We’ve had a lot of interest in our greener shades, and our ground floor design bar area has green cabinetry to reflect this. Watch this space!
