Rhapsody in Blue

12 Apr Rhapsody in Blue

Shaker Kitchen Company - Customer Gallery Down Ampney #3

It’s official. Blue is the new grey. Or is it navy is the new black? Well either way, look out as blue is firmly in the sights of those-in-the-know from fashion to interiors. It does, at last, seem that grey has been pushed off its podium.

If we needed any more of a sign that blue has hit the mainstream, Dulux has announced that Denim Drift is it’s colour trend of 2017. A smoky blue-grey, it’s the perfect colour for calm family spaces, working well with both natural and artificial light.

If all-out blue seems too bold a choice for your kitchen, why not try combining colours in your kitchen to make blue a smaller statement area. Our head of design, Lara Jansen suggests pairing some of our stronger colours for real impact ‘recently we’ve seen customers choose to pair our Rhapsody and After Midnight cabinets with the softer shades such as Nimbus White– and the effect is breathtaking. If you’re worried about your space looking too dark, keep the darker colours to base units and lighter for wall units’ she advises.

Take a look at these stunning customer kitchens to see how you too could make it work.
