Richmond

RICHMOND-UPON-THAMES, LONDON

For my trip to Twickenham recently I made an early morning visit to Richmond Park to stretch my legs and enjoy the wildlife a little before heading off to photograph Nasreen’s kitchen.

For my trip to Twickenham recently I made an early morning visit to Richmond Park to stretch my legs and enjoy the wildlife a little before heading off to photograph Nasreen’s kitchen.

I didn’t quite find the time to sit on the Ian Dury bench but the beautiful early spring weather more than made up for that!

THE KITCHEN

This beautifully realised kitchen was the perfect example of a customer who knew exactly what she needed and our designers helping to create a kitchen that is symbiotic to the families needs.

The cabinets are set in our signature ‘After Midnight’ and the worktops are Silestone Lagoon.

Nasreen

This kitchen is actually 4 years in the making. We moved into the house when I was heavily pregnant with our second child. Over the next 4 years we slowly turned a tired 1930s house into the house we left our one bedroom flat in London for. As we worked through renovating the house we intentionally left the kitchen and back of the house renovations last so we could live with the space to see how we would use the area with our growing family.

We (I!) started planning the space in Janaury 2014. The biggest focus was the flow of the kitchen from the island to the living room and to the outside space. We were thoughtful about how the downstairs space would feel with the rest of the house and the need to keep the balance of the new space with the garden area. Every room needed to feel apportionate to the rest of the house.

After 18 months of walking and living the space as best we could with the extension not having been built, we applied for planning permission in the Autumn of 2015 and commenced work in the summer of 2016.

It’s important to highlight that a project of this scale was not taken lightly and required thoughtful meticulous planning, with each cupboard, draw and appliance position to provide the best flow within the space.

We have absolutely no doubt we have the right kitchen and garden space for our family.

There is nothing we would do differently!

Tim was amazing, listening and answering every question I had about the process, which enabled such a great outcome.
