How are your cabinets constructed?

Our frames, doors and frontages are manufactured from a hard wood which is kiln dried, primed and painted in your choice from our 25 selected colours. Our carcass is constructed from MDF which is primed and painted in the same colour as the frontage. Everything arrives to you fully rigid, constructed and packaged. We don’t supply flat-pack furniture.

Do you offer ``soft close`` options on your cabinetry?

All of our drawers use industry leading BLUM soft-close runners. These have a fantastic feel and are the ultimate in drawer-closing technology.

Do you charge for kitchen designs?

No, we offer a free design service unless you want us to visit your house, in which case a senior designer will visit your property and discuss the best way to maximise your space. We then prepare a design and estimate and send this out within a week of the visit. We charge £300 for this service, but the amount is refunded in full if you buy your kitchen from us.

Can we supply our own worktop and appliances?

Yes, absolutely. Bear in mind that we offer a NEFF price match guarantee with any genuine internet retailer. For worktops, we can offer stone at market leading prices as long as you purchase it as part of a kitchen bought from The Shaker Kitchen Company.

Do you come to our home to perform a survey?

If you have purchased kitchen installation as part of your package, we will come to your house to conduct a survey before your kitchen is sent to our production team. This service is included in the price. The survey helps to ensure that the measurements will work and that your kitchen will fit (provided you don’t make any changes to the room after the survey!).

Do you supply flooring?

Yes, we partner with Chauncey’s Flooring who supply and fit beautiful wood floors that wonderfully complement our cabinetry. Please visit your nearest showroom to see more.

What is the price of delivery?

Delivery price depends on your location. We calculate the price based on distance from our warehouse and we offer four different levels of delivery service.

Bronze = Kerbside delivery. Silver = Delivery into your kitchen, only on the ground floor. Gold = Delivery to a maximum second floor. Platinum = As Gold service, but we also dispose of the packaging from your new kitchen.

Please speak to your designer about the delivery price that is applicable to your order.

How long will our kitchen take to arrive?

Approximately 10-12 weeks after you sign-off your final plans.

Does the price on your website include painting?

Yes, the price you see on our website is the price you pay. It includes everything you will need and there are options to upgrade if you want to. Upgrades might include Shaker panels on one or each side of the cabinet; you might want to upgrade your drawers to natural, unpainted (lacquered) hard wood or you could include cutlery dividers in your drawers and these could be painted MDF or unpainted hard wood.

Do you supply handles and worktops separately?

We do supply handles separately. Please contact us for a quote. Worktops and appliances can only be sold with a kitchen as delivery costs would make it prohibitive to sell these at a competitive price.

Can we make changes after our kitchen has been ordered and signed off?

Not within 10 weeks of your estimated delivery date as your kitchen is in production. Changes more than 10 weeks prior may be possible. Any such change will incur an admin fee of £120.

What are your payment terms?

50% deposit on order of your kitchen, and the remaining 50% to be received by us at least 3 weeks prior to delivery.

What does your installation service include?

Installation is “dry-fit” only – we are not insured or qualified to install plumbing or electric connections. Furthermore, we are unable to “dry-fit” any appliances that we have not supplied.

In which areas do you offer delivery and installation?

We work all over the mainland UK for delivery and installation. Occasionally customers have arranged to export our kitchens into Europe and even Australia. If you want to export your kitchen, we can arrange to deliver to a UK port of your choice. We recommend that you use a freight forwarding agent to manage your shipping and delivery from there.

How do you resolve installation snags and aftersales enquiries?

We have a Customer Care team dedicated to helping resolve any outstanding issues or faults relating to your kitchen. If you email aftersales@theshakerkitchen.co we will automatically open an e-ticket for you and you will receive a response acknowledging your request straightaway. (Please make sure you check your junk mail and clutter folders as our responses can sometimes get caught there.) We aim to respond to all aftersales enquiries in full within 72 hours.
